Building a home is such an adventure! A house becomes a home screw by screw, and with the collaboration of an architect, home builder, and interior designer, a blueprint becomes a dream home. Lori Trubinsky, the founder of Gracious Home Interiors, recently took on designing several new construction home projects around Charlotte, NC, in partnership with Bridwell Homes. We are excited to share the first one to be finished: Clemson Avenue. Here is how Gracious Home Interiors takes a home from concept to reality: designing new construction homes.

Clemson Avenue Project | Charlotte, North Carolina

This contemporary home was built in NoDa in Charlotte, NC. NoDa is the heart of the historical art and entertainment district and includes people from all walks of life. The homes in this community are modern and craftsman-style, which was the inspiration for our exterior design. This four-bedroom home includes 2.5 baths, a dedicated office, an electric fireplace, a Juliette balcony, and an open floor plan in the living space located within three floors. 

We selected finishes and materials with an overall neutral color palette. Textured geometric shapes partnered with brushed brass and matte black fixtures were chosen to give this home an overall modern yet warm aesthetic. This house’s vibe speaks to the community and appeals to buyers looking for a home in the area.

Designing New Construction

Before construction can begin, we develop a plan. Design boards are created and presented to our project partners to ensure that our teams collaborate toward a consistent and cohesive design and budget. Our design boards are the lifeline for communication between our designers and the construction team. We include floorplan layouts and perspectives and use photo-realistic rendering to show the end result. These boards include all finishes, from paint colors to materials and lighting.
